Usage of LED grow lights have been on the rise these days. At first, it wasn’t thought as a very viable system for plant growth. But over time as the technology  has progressed, we are seeing more and more improvements and implementations. And and so, a huge variety of LED grow lights have made themselves available in stores and online.  It can be  very easy for someone not familiar with the industry to not know what are the best LED grow lights the market has available.

With any piece of  new technology, the public latches onto it and it essentially becomes mainstream. The market soon becomes flooded with cheap imitations that don’t do everything they say they do. But a savvy shopper knows some of the basic terms to look for in order to find the best LED grow lights. If you are one step ahead of all the marketing hype you’ll ensure good quality in both your LED grow lights and plant growth.

Some of the best LED grow lights boast a good long life span. This is usually measured by how many hours the LED grow lights can last. A good rule of thumb is to look for LED lights that last about 50,000 to 100,000 hours of power usage. Keeping this in mind, you’ll ensure that your LED grow lights last and you’ll save money on not having to constantly replace them. But this lifespan can vary greatly if other factors aren’t taken into consideration.

Not all LED grow lights are made equally in terms of power consumption. You should not grab the nearest LED light without checking its total power wattage. For the best LED grow lights in right wattage, look for the brands that have about 3 to 5 watts. Avoid anything that is less than about 1 watt to ensure proper plant growth.

Probably one of the most overlooked qualities  in best LED grow lights is their power circuit. This is a very important part to consider when choosing your LED grow lights. There should be a good and constant stream of electricity flowing to the lights. The power circuit essentially converts electricity from the AC to DC and if there isn’t a constant driver then you’ll have varying voltage results. When shopping around for LED grow lights, make sure to look for ones that have the term  “constant current” in it to ensure that your lights will not constantly fluctuate between voltage power.

Also making sure that your LED grow lights have a good heat management system attached, which can make or break the lifespan of  your LEDs.  Heat management systems such as heat sinks, MCPCB ( metal core printed circuit board), and  cooling fans  will ensure the prevention of overheating.  Just looking out for  these terms will ensure that you’ll always get the best LED grow lights no matter what the brand.
